About Mercy Corps Gifts

What is a Mercy Corps Gift?
Mercy Corps Gifts are symbolic gifts that represent the work that we do in the world’s toughest places. Mercy Corps will use your donation to save and improve lives in the 41 countries we work around the world.

When I purchase a Mercy Corps Gift, what will my recipient receive?
Your recipient will receive a custom card in recognition of your gift according to the delivery method you choose:

  • US Postal Delivery: a high-quality printed card, customized with to, from and message fields, will be sent via first-class postal mail to your recipient.
  • Email: A professionally designed email, customized with to, from and message fields, will be sent to your recipient.
  • Download & Print: The same printed card design will be available to you in PDF format to download, print, fold and deliver to your recipient.
  • Send to me: a high-quality printed card, customized or blank, will be mailed to you to customize and deliver yourself.

You can preview the card that comes with your gift on the product page of that gift. Each card includes your custom message and explanation of how the gift is changing lives around the world. None of the cards or emails your recipient receives display the price of the gift.

How is my donation used?
To help deliver the most effective solutions to the greatest number of people, your donation will be combined with other funds and used as it is most needed. The gift descriptions reflect the kinds of support Mercy Corps provides to the people we serve.

Ordering help

Can you take my gift order over the phone?
Definitely. Please contact our donor services department at 1-888-842-0842, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, Monday thru Friday.

I'm ordering a bunch of the same card for many people, and want them all sent to me. How do I best do that?
It's easy! Our bulk ordering system allow you to order multiples of one card with the same message (or no message), and have all of those cards mailed to you, along with blank envelopes. Here's how:

  1. Find the card you want and click on the "Bulk order" checkbox below the "Add to Cart" button. A quantity field will appear, and you can choose the number of cards you want to order.
  2. On the Customize screen, you'll be asked to enter any message you want to appear on all the cards — or not enter a message.
  3. On the Pay & Review screen, you'll be asked for your shipping address so we can mail one package of cards to you, along with blank envelopes.

Am I required to customize the cards I order?
Of course not. You can order blank cards by leaving the customization fields blank. (If you do that, you probably want the cards all sent to you, so be sure to select the "Send to me" delivery option and enter your shipping information on the Review & Pay screen.)

Delivery inquiries

When will my cards be delivered?
Cards are shipped via first-class postal mail. The expected delivery time for your Mercy Corps Gift order is 5-10 business days. If you require earlier delivery, please consider our email and printable card delivery options.

How do I know if my recipient received their card?
Sorry, but we don't offer delivery confirmation for mailed cards at this time.

Can I choose when my card is received?
We can't guarantee which day your will arrive. Cards are mailed from our printer in Portland, Oregon, and mailed first-class postal mail on the day you select on the Customization screen.

Can I send my cards via Fed Ex, or some other express service?
Unfortunately, we only offer first-class postal mail delivery at this time.

I forgot to download my PDF after I checked out. Can I get another one?
Please contact our donor services department at 1-888-842-0842, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, Monday thru Friday, or email us at mercycorpsgifts@mercycorps.org. We will promptly verify your order and email you another PDF to print. Include your order number for the quickest service.

My gift recipient said they didn't receive my email. What can I do?
Please contact our donor services department at 1-888-842-0842, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, Monday thru Friday, or email us at mercycorpsgifts@mercycorps.org. Include your order number for the quickest service. You might also ask your recipient to check their spam folder. Ecards are mailed from gifts@mercycorps.org.

My recipient says they didn’t receive my card. Can you send a replacement card?
Please contact our donor service department at 1-888-842-0842, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, Monday thru Friday, or email us at mercycorpsgifts@mercycorps.org. Include your order number for the quickest service. We will promptly drop a replacement card in the mail.
